Can anyone recommend a good IRC client? I have heard of mirc and used a long time ago, but are there any better?

VIRC eats a lot of resources. mIRC is very fast and doesn't eat anything

If you want the best, look at mIRC or pIRCh

If your looking for cross-plaform look at BitchX...

i'd tend to go for vIRC '97 on win32 and BitchX or Xchat on Linux
of course if you're a mozilla user then theres always the basic chatzilla client.

although i haven't tried it u can get vIRC 2 from here
or vIRC 97 from any tucows server.
