As much as I like Seal3, it's ideas and uses; I think more work should still be done on Seal2.0 . Seal2.0 is one of the best GUI's that I've seen for Dos and it's a shame just to leave it.
I've been at Seal for a good while now and I don't want to see all the code going to waste.
What can be done, What should be done to solve this problem?

at my opinion SEAL3 will start the death of SEAL... this is one of the reasons that i decided to continue The Force and put all my code there.

but also i think that some persons will not understand that and continue to wait for SEAL3 to be finished one day. I don't want to sound bad, but i don't think that -at least today- SEAL have programmers which have the needed knowledge in order to make a GUI at least like SEAL 2 was.

Wanna know why..

Because when i hear the word Seal it gives me the feeilng of unstability, slowness and other stuff. I don know what makes this feeling in me.
Well maybe i could help maintain Seal2, but am not sure. What about CubeOS? I have started it and should finish it.

Im not sure. I cannot decide. (Yet again )

Well if you have code to make Seal more stable (from CubeOS) you could give it to Owen or whoever the maintainer will be at the time.

Like I have said, hybrid is dead... I am working with lukas now on CubeOS, I will still continue to support H:BaR and SEAL2.

I agree with Bad Sector about SEAL3, I have looked into its code, and see absolutly no promise, and here is my reasons why:

Allegro does not like it!
Its not done well
No use to start over!

Lukas, i hope we see some sources soon, if SEAL makes you think Slow and unstable then why the Fck are you using it for CubeOS, surely you could just take over development of SEAL2 and make it what you think CubeOS should be.
ryan, it would be good to have the sources for HOS now it's dead, since you've released a bin version it would be good practice.

by the way, hows The PAW going?

is this why you aren't working on SEAL?

If you mean that little sample bit of code I released before I went on holiday, it was just to test a few things - it may not be used like that in the final code, I don't know yet. I'm still catching up on messages here...

Preview 2 is kinda usable. All it needs is more widgets.

BTW, the current problem with Seal2 is that no body fully understands it. Stencl seems to have used some real screwup which he could have done without.

Once we understand how the system works, I think support and bug solving will be easier.

I tried running Seal 2.0 with -pg, refused to compile. Thats_SAD_
