I suggest we call off maintnance of xduffy. I think this whole thing was so stupid. I suggest a new maintainer and am asking David to send me the code - lukas@pmad.net.

So if you agree, _xduffy_ is no more maintainer.

but surely you've no interest in being maintainer, not with your new GUI that you're co-developing with Julien?

Who do you suggest should replace him then? I don't have time to maintain SEAL right now and won't for quite some time.

Well, for those who are interested, here is the source I sent to David back in January: http://www.owenrudge.net/various/latest.rar. You can do what you like with it, providing it complies with the GPL. Also, David is still officially the maintainer of SEAL.

Well what about making biggyp the maintainer, i know he doesnt code, but he could lead the team and maybe get it together.

The new GUI can be accessed from my company website - http://www.gigasoft.host.sk or shortly http://gigasoft.host.sk/products/ozone/

Hello guys, I give you my sincerest apologies for not taking on my responsibility in a good way.

Anyway, I am going to upload my sources so everyone can have them. I actually tried it right now but sourceforge is troublesome right now. (It just got down for maintenance again...). Anyway I hope to upload it this evening as the unofficial Seal 2.0.12 release.

I understand if you want someone else to take my post. Really.

But if you can forgive me I have some ideas for the future.
First of all, we have all these cool features everybody wants in Seal, the only problem is that they have to get implemented... and there's not a lot of programmers around here, have never been and aren't today either. So we'll just have to take it bit by bit, feature by feature.
My mistake was that I thought I was going to have all this time this spring, well i was wrong. And I had all these grand ideas about what to add Seal, and I thought I could do it quickly... Well, after these months with no activity from me I realize that I couldn't do all that, sorry to say.
I am going to concentrate on the desktop and try to make it better, and make file management better, because these are the things that interests me most, and I feel like i want to do it. Please, if you want something in Seal, write it...

Another thing that explains my lack of development is that my dev computer is at my parents house now and my laptop with XP isn't capable of developing for DOS. And vmware can't handle the vesa graphics... So i just have to install some older windows 9x along with xp... but i have to get a cd or something... I don't know from where...

Nice to see you all again
/David

great to have you back david, i know what real life getting in the way is like, don't worry about it, look forward to a new release when you've got the time, as for a copy of win9x if you have trouble finding one i'll post one to you.

any progress on Seal is good progress, and the desktop is as good a place for improvement as any, i'm a skinner more than anything so i'm not really bothered about which bits are sorted first, just so long as they're sorted

Hi everyone, long time no see!
One thing that i'd like to point out is that any progress at seal is still progress and I think people shouldn't be complaining about David because he's doing as good a job as he possibly can. I'm glad to see there is still some interest in Seal though but there is also some destructive forces still here (none have posted in this thread... yet) As for me , I might be around during the summer but i'm very busy with other things & I'm not doing any programming at all at the moment.

Anyway keep up the good work,
Darragh

lol.. that is the question, SEAL is pretty much gone, 3.0 killed it or at least knocked it out.. unless someone picks up the code and works with it and releases something, SEAL will fail, it is sad, but a real truth...

Why does everybody want screeshots. Look at Linux, it doesnt have to run a WM, but is great. Maybe pointless for you. And stop talking s*** about PMAD - or have you forgot about your HybridOS and OpenShare? You know what you can do with yourself.

And who was the f*** up GreenLeaf, eh? Oh, by the way, you can go f*** yourself in the ass with HybridOS. Adding new icons and graphics is all you can do.
