Anyone know what's been going on with SourceForge lately? I'm sure everyone has noticed some problems, but today it's been awful.

no idea, no scheduled maintainance that i've been notified of, it seemed to be just the project web space last night, the project pages themselves were working fine.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything out either. It seems like it might be the MySQL server. Whatever the problem is, its driving me crazy.

i doubt it very much, all static pages were unreachable, you would have just experienced loads of can't connect to DB errors had it been only the MySQL.

Yeah, but it was really irritating... how many projects do sf host? How many pages didn't work? *shivers*

Anyway, I was able to run the allegro demo under vmware 4 today!!! So now I'm busy compiling Seal under it, I am excited to see if I can run Seal under vmware. If I can, i can actually be a somewhat active coder (on Seal) again

hmmm, yes, loadsa downtime, but then, those sites not hosted on SF linked to from the homepage links of projects tend to be offline much more often, so it's not bad.

as for VMWare, it certainly can http://www.geocities.com/pipthewomble/stuff/seal2underVMware.jpg , but it's not exactly fast.
