Seal 2 is totally depending on Allegro for all of it's graphical operations... So you would have to write the driver for Allegro...

Allegro to me has no set use in SEAL, Allegro is for games, not GUI'S!!

SEAL3 needs to have it own graphical functions, take them from allegro, but do not use the full allegro!

Lukas, what is your problem? i wasn't causing any trouble, just asking if, since he sees no reason to use allegro for SEAL he was thinking about moving the other systems he's working on away from it, and who's language is getting bad now?

Allegro is DJGPP's graphics library (like GRAPH.TPU is for Turbo Pascal and GRAPHICS.LIB for Turbo C) which supports more things than graphics (it supports sound, input, etc) and is game related, but not only for games. Many non-game applications have been written using Allegro.

Allegro is cross compatible.

It can be used under DOS, Windows (DirectX/GDI), and Linux (SVGALib, FrameBuffer, X)

And it is not only DJGPP that can compile Allegro or use the Allegro Library. You have minwg, cygwin and the classic gcc under Linux.

Oh..I forgot, I did some demoes with Allegro+MSVC.

Yeah its all supported.
