i take it we're specifying regions for the horizontal and vertical sections of the image, but having measured up the images it and got the correct measurements SEAL3 has started crashing on startup.

would it be a reasonable thing to split the bitmap into several files rather than just cutting up regions within one bitmap?

I guess that will be in the skin.skn ?

you don't say

So we specify the borders of the regions with the x and y axis. Obviously, the borders of region 0 will be 0,0

its too hard to split up bitmaps. And we have cluster problems too.

Its pretty simple specifying regions.

That was a known issue, crashing when regions were not correct. Post your bitmap and the regions and we'll see what went wrong. BTW, for debugging info, in the for loop, you must neevr get a negative cood, else it will crash. You cant make bitmaps with negative width or height (basically)

try editing the registry in a text editor, also change your colour scheme so things are slightly more readable, i've had a little trouble with the older versions under XP(took ages starting) haven't tried the latest

Right,

this has nothing to do with the code. As above, open registry.dat and change

system.graphics.depth , system.graphics.width, system.graphics.height to something that works.

BTW, all of you _must_ upgrade to the latest version (4.9 - 2.79), because a lot of things have changed between them.

I already use 2.79!
About the colour sheme... don't know... IrfanView was a bit strange that day..

Normally my colour sheme is perfectly readable... Mr Green

Gonna try to edit the file now... (but isn't it strange that Finkelmaaks-Binaryversion ran great on my system?)

Mmm, I can say window is nice. Maybe a little too big (I mean, buttons) but think that can be solved w/resolution options (can't it?)
And the BIG think (I think) is that 1.77 just can't run under plain DOS. The mingw thing is OK for a DOS box from a win session but it can't be a GUI for DOS because it doesn't work w/ DOS.
Maybe 2.79 has solved this. I'll try it immediatly!

Big, because the size was so. Change the source and see.

The binary has debugging info in some modules, and they are not stripped.

the size can be fixed by using a smaller font or simply by having smaller buttons, they should be sizable (are they ganesh).

smaller font : FONT API not complete
smaller buttons : Change the source code. It must be somewhere 'round 300 pixels.

Code:

set_xywh( .... );
