If I am correct, this board runs PHPBB2. I want to install it on my DaNoOS project site too. How do I? I already downloaded PHPBB 2.01

have you uploaded and unpacked it? you will need to create a MySQL database, who is hosting your site is it SF? once you have a dbase for it just browse to the url of your phpBB2 installation and go through the configuration.

You don't have to use MySQL. You can use an Access database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MySQL 4.x, Oracle or PostgreSQL. The install.php lets you choose your database. However, it's unlikely a standard free webspace provider will support either PHP or any of the above - they might, but it's unlikely.

Well, it is my own provider, where each client has 25 mb webspc for free. I emailed them with the question if I can use one of these databases. Hope for response ASAP. (Paul, if you're reading this, check your PM)

well, for a start do they support PHP? can you run the install.php once uploaded? if not then give up and go elsewhere for hosting.

well, if you've got DSL host it yourself
seriously, if you're not putting massive drain on your bandwidth there's no reason why not.

Whaa! do you think my pc is online the whole day? My dad would get an attack from the power use (He thinks PC's 'eat' power like a lion eats meat )

But maybe, I'll write a webserver for DaNoOS, so.....

For now I want to try hosting it on my provider.
