I've installed FreeDOS 0.8 as they seem to call it on my IBM ThinkPad 701CS, together with the newest SEAL. For those unfamiliar with it (*chuckle*), this box's specs are as follows: i486DX4/75MHz, 16MB RAM, 1.44 external floppy drive, Soundblaster 1.0 clone or something, graphics featured by a CT-65545, seems to be VESA 2.0 compliant (?).
However, SEAL won't start up in 'normal' mode at all. It crashes, leaving a wierd looking screen. Called as 'seal -safe' it does start, but lemme list the caveats:
o Terribly slow (What about an option to disable all those nifty special effects for oldtimer users?)
o After at most 5 minutes you'll get a messed up screen + hanging system again.
Anyone a clue? Can I help solving these problems by providing you with something?
NIETS IS ONMOGELIJK!
